Dear All,
I just replaced the old Search by the new Smart Search on a J!4.4.8 website.
In order to run a search from any page of my website, I have used the Smart Search module and assigned it to all pages. I did not create a corresponding menu. As a result, I got a search field where I can enter a search term and after pressing enter the search results are listed under a header line consisting of a search term text field, a search button and an advanced search button. Although the list of results can become quite long, no pagination controls are displayed. Also when I click on the advanced search button, no pagination controls are offered.
However, when I create a corresponding Smart Search menu in addition to the Smart Search module, pagination controls are displayed, the defaults of which can be configured in the advanced tab of the Smart Search menu. Pagination now becomes enabled, regardless, if I run a search from the menu or from the module. But when I unpublish the Smart Search menu, the pagination controls are gone again.
Is this the intended operation of the Smart Search module or did I miss any control which would allow the Smart Search module, if used without any Smart Search menu, to offer pagination controls?
Thanks & Regards
Tom
